Getting Started with Workday!
First of all, what is Workday?
Workday is a cloud based HR and Finance Software as a Service application. The application is hosted on Workday’s servers and and they make is available to their customer.
With about 98% customer satisfaction rating Workday is one of the growing and leading name in HR and Finance system. Their “Power of One” is working well for them.
Now how do I get started in Workday?
So first and foremost the way it works is that a customer decides that they want to implement a new HRIS application. The customer then will vet out different vendors and their offerings. Once they decide to get Workday, They sign a contract and purchase Workday services.
Workday may implement it for themselves or may involve a partner to implement it for them. The Customer may also choose a partner for themselves OR a partner firm may sell Workday and their services to the customer.
To implement Workday, one need to be a certified by Workday in the module of your choice. Some of the core modules in Workday are: HCM Core, Benefits, Time and Attendance, Payroll, Recruiting, Learning, Core Compensation, Advance Compensation. These are just a few listed here.
So again going back, to implement Workday, one need to go for training with Workday, pass their certification requirements and then become certified to implement the application
I have found a few training centres that train people in Workday but they are no way authorized by Workday. Are they any good? May be but again, unless you are Workday Certified, you cannot implement Workday.
Some customers may choose to hire these non-certified folks to help augment their team and assist in implementation but obviously, the level of support received is at a different level than what a certified consultant brings to the table.
